Identification of Archaeological Wood Species by IR Spectroscopy
نویسندگان
چکیده
We present the results of testing previously proposed method for identifying species archaeological wood materials by single-reflection attenuated total reflectance IR spectroscopy. The region 1270–1220 cm–1, in which two bands different intensities were found, is most promising samples. In spectra coniferous wood, a more intense band located at approximately 1265 and deciduous species, 1230 cm–1.

Preliminary Investigation into the Identification of Wood Species from Different Locations by Near Infrared Spectroscopy
The feasibility of using near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR) to identify wood species was investigated in this study. Case I considers the principal component analysis scores plot of NIR spectra for three wood species. Case II considers whether NIR combined with partial least squares discriminant analyses can be used to identify the three wood species. Three wood species were studied, and each spe...

In many cases, especially those involving sexual assault, forensic scientists are searching the biological evidences such as blood, skin, hair, saliva, urine, semen for DNA analysis. Recently, the uses of condoms in sexual assault cases were increasing to avoid leaving the biological traces in the crime scene. In these cases, finding the condom lubricant traces from the victims can be valuable ...
